About Us All course fees include the AHA certification card fee of $5.50. (Family & Friends CPR does not come with a card) A private class is one whose date is scheduled by the student(s) with less than 4 students in it. All on-site classes must have a minimum of four students! BLS for Healthcare Providers This course is intended for licensed and non-licensed individuals who provide direct patient care in a variety of settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, home healthcare, and elsewhere in the community. These individuals include nurses, EMTs, physician assistants, respiratory, physical, occupational and speech therapists, med. or nursing students, medical residents, or fellows. The student will learn the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (adult, child, and infant), use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) (adult and child), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (child, adult, and infant). Heartsaver AED This course is for individuals who need to learn CPR and how to operate an Automatic External Defibrillator to respond to cardiac emergencies to fulfill their job requirements. These individuals include firefighters, police officers, lifeguards, airline personnel, and security guards, as well as people who work in areas where there are large numbers of people such as hotels, malls, restaurants, daycare or senior centers, fitness centers, factories, and theme parks. This class is also beneficial to those family members living with patients at high risk for sudden cardiac emergencies. Heartsaver First Aid with CPR & AED This course is intended for those individuals described above for the Heartsaver AED course that would also respond to first-aid emergencies. It includes information and training in the skills of first-aid recommended by OSHA. The course contains three modules. They are General Principles of First-Aid, Medical Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies. There is an optional module that teaches how to respond to Environmental Emergencies as well. This course fulfills the First Aid, CPR, and AED requirements for lifeguards as well as day-care providers. Friends & Family CPR (non-credentialed) This course is a non-credentialed class; however, a letter of completion will be issued to each student by the instructor. This course is designed for members of the general public who would like to learn the basics of CPR. These individuals include families with children or elderly adults, athletes, resident assistants in college dorms, and volunteers. Costs are per student and do not include student manuals. The AHA recommends that manuals be obtained and available for reference to each student before, during, and after class. Student manuals may be purchased prior to classes through ABCDs of CPR or WorldPoint A manual will be available to each student for use and/or purchase at the time of class. The $5.50 certifcation card fee is included in the price of the class. Cards will be mailed directly to students no later than 7 business days following completion of the course. A letter showing the completion of the course will be provided by the instructor. No refunds will be made. If you miss your class, you may reschedule for the next class with available space convenient for you. A $20 fee will be charged for all returned checks.
